Meet the empowering, inspiring and amazing women who walked the stage before you!

The first time I ever competed in a beauty pageant I was 17 and entering college and thought it would be a great way to receive scholarship money! There were 305 girls and I took 1st Runner-up...needless to say I was addicted!!

I currently am Miss California USA 2010 and I have devoted my entire life to being Miss California since the day I was crowned! Since I will be competing for Miss USA on May 16th everything revolves around my preparation and devotion to being the best Miss California USA I can be! The woman who were crowned before me are all incredibly driven and amazing individuals and I can only hope to live up to my title the way they did!

God has funny but perfect timing. I wasn't the little girl who dreamed of being a beauty queen, but God had other plans for me. My most recent pageant adventure began with an unexpected invitation and email. I was working full time at a jewelry store and living the life of a starving artist. A cancer scare put my dreams on hold and a recent surgery had left my world a little shaken.
I received am email from the Miss Malibu director wanting to sponsor my entry fee for the Miss California USA pageant. I shared the idea with my family and laughed at the thought of competing again in a pageant. My Aunt played a key role in my decision as she challenged me in seeing the opportunity God had presented me. She reminded me that I had been sick for a year and struggling to go after my dreams and here was a women offering to help getting me back into the world I had been forced to step out of because of my sickness.

Still not convinced I promised I'd at least think about it. I prayed and asked God for a sign. That night I opened my bible to the story of Ester (a biblical beauty queen). I read the verse that said, "I put you in a royal position for such a time as this..."
I knew then that though this hadn't been a dream of mine that God had a reason he wanted me to compete. I used the pageant as a stepping stone toward my dreams.

In the time I spent preparing for the pageant I got a manager, an agent, got in shape, wrote my first screenplay and got back into the industry. It helped me find myself again.

I placed 1st runner up but left the pageant feeling like a winner. 6 months later I received a call that I was going to be taking over the title of Miss California USA, as the current titleholder failed to complete her responsibilities.
Overnight I was blessed with more opportunities then I could have even imagined.

I am a dreamer, chasing dreams. I am working as a model and continuing in my pursuit of a career in acting and writing. I am planning my wedding for September to the love of my life and writing my second screenplay.

Philanthropy plays a big roll in my life and I am still very much involved with charity work. I am a spokesperson for Sparrow Clubs and am looking into creating my own foundation to help people in need.

Ever since I can remember I have watched beauty pageants on t.v. At a very young age I fell in love with them; solely because I never thought I could be one of the women competing in them. When the chance to compete in one became in actual opportunity in my life I could not let it pass me by. I knew exactly what I wanted to be when I “grew up” and I never let anything get in the way of making my dream a reality.

I am still living my dream! I now own my own pageant consulting business, ROCK Pageantry. Where I mentor, coach and train the new generation of competitors. I am inspired by strong, goal oriented women and I am truly blessed to be able to work with them. I have a natural love for life, family, friends and God.

I competed in a pageant just to do something different. I entered my first pageant at the age of 19 for the title of Miss California Teen (NAM system). I competed against 103 girls that year and ended up winning my first pageant ever. I then had the "pageant bug" and wanted to compete in the Miss CA USA system. I got fourth runner up my first time around, then came back the following year and won the title of Miss CA USA 2007. I ended my pageant career as 3rd runner up to Miss USA. Ever since I was a little girl, I've always wanted to be an actress. I tried my best to network and make great contacts during my reign. My pageant career lasted from age 19 to 22 and for me, that was long enough. I'm thankful for all of the experiences and opportunities. I'm a better person because of it.

I am really focusing on my acting career; my passion. Even while competing for those pageants, I was taking acting classes and was filming commercials. I never lost site of what my true dream was and still is! I've been on several TV Shows: 90210, CSI:NY, 10 Things I Hate About You, Accidentally On Purpose, Dark Blue, etc. I filmed my first movie with Denzel Washington back in November of 2009 called Unstoppable. Now I'm looking forward to working on a few other projects! I'm focused right now with no distractions! Happy and Healthy!

Like many, I was a young girl who would watch beauty pageants (Miss USA and Miss America) on television and dream; always saying to myself, "I want to do that. I want to be her.". Fast forward many years later, I took inventory of my life, my accomplishments, my experiences and knew that there was more to my destiny. I remember saying to myself, "what is it that I have always wanted to do, that I have not yet done?" and, just like that, something spoke to my heart and answered "Become Miss USA." My journey started there - I entered the Miss California USA 2006 pageant and the rest is history.

My "now" includes years of experiences and triumphs to include many television appearances as a Host/On-Air correspondent, many roles in major commercials/ad campaigns, a stint on the hit game show "The Price Is Right, the birth of "SHINE," my non-profit foundation and pageant/lifestyle consulting group, and, perhaps my most favorite, planning my upcoming wedding to the love of my life.

I grew up in soccer shorts, an over-sized tee shirt and a messy ponytail... not exactly the ideal picture of a Miss California. My journey in the pageant world still feels like an unexpected whirlwind beginning at a local city pageant and ending at MISS USA 2005 as first-runner-up. The reason I chose to compete was strictly because I wanted something other than soccer to help my college applications be strong. I never expected that competing in one pageant would open doors to go all the way to MISS USA and live the opportunities I have been blessed to have. I can truly say every title I held and eventually winning the coveted crown of Miss California USA 2005 absolutely changed the course of my life and helped mold and shape me into the woman I am today.

I just recently married my best friend, my trainer for Miss USA (I call him the biggest perk I got out of my pageant experience) and am loving life as a wife and homemaker (and mama to the cutest puppy EVER)! Outside of that, I work as a freelance Makeup Artist for weddings, pageants and special events and occasionally take jobs hosting, modeling and judging pageants. I have kept very close friendships with many of my pageant sisters and am blessed to be a part of a sisterhood of such amazing, strong and beautiful women. My life has been a roller-coaster and being in this beautiful, yummy place I am now at is in large part due to my journey through the pageant world. I feel so blessed to have had all the opportunities I have had, to be where I am now and to be looking forward to the next chapters!
